Hello again.
A lot of people ask me about my political and social beliefs since I am active in the local Tea Party and conservative politics. I have friends from all along the political spectrum, but those on the Left tend to be the most knee-jerk reactive, the least tolerant or accepting, the most prone to finger pointing and calling names.
So, let me offer this analysis of what that means: when a right winger, I mean a Right-Winger! gets air time, they generally make themselves look like the tools they are. They may have some good ideas and ideals under all that corrosive nonsense they spout but you never get it and the press/media never try to draw any of that out of them. The Press does its best to shoot the Right down at every turn. Thus, The Far Right gets marginalized from jump street: There is no room for anything too far right in the American political spectrum, as far as the "mainstream media" is concerned.
But when the Left goes off into the high weeds, be it Moonbat Sheila Jackson Lee or Elijah Cummings, and they get really far Left, FAR Left, and say stupid inane things, the Press/Media give them coverage and support for their extremist views. And it happens all the time.
Case in point: Anthony Weiner's wiener, on Twitter and the Web...no shame, no guilt until he was finally fully caught. "I been hacked..." Yeah, hacked into dropping you trousers and sending a strange woman (other than your wife) a photo of your Weiner wiener to peruse.
No guilt: no shame. Forced to admit it after a lengthy, dramatic denial. Wouldn't admit it and lose your soapbox to bluster at the public from, and that political office to use to your advantage. So, this is just the most recent case of scumbaggery on the Far Left to finally come to light. And he's still out there, on Left leaning cable TV selling his leftist vision as the way to go.
Case in point: "Cold Cash" Jefferson. Sanctimonious Leftist liar and dirtball, caught with $90,000 of marked bribe money in his freezer. Thus the title "Cold Cash" for our slimy friend. He was caught red handed and then tried to assert Congressional Privilege against search until they finally got the goods on him.
But not before he stood for re-election, again. No shame: no guilt. And only a year or so before he was found guilty, and sentenced to 13 years in federal prison. And forced to pay back $470,653.47 the jury felt was gained illegally. To the end, he and his lawyers were saying he "deserved" leniency, and a shorter sentence, and considerations and the like.
Even convicted he showed no shame, no sense of guilt, no remorse. He felt he deserved that money, that bribe, and shouldn't be punished for getting it. He went to prison with the echoes of the Greek Chorus of the Congressional Black Caucus, a very socialist clique, singing that the entire case was one of unacknowledged racism, and not just a greedy public official caught taking a bribe...and HIDING it. Do you normally hide things in your home or office? Not unless you have a good reason to keep them out of sight. Bribery is one of those reasons to hide something...it's a crime.
Case in point: New York Governor, Eliot "Client 9" Spitzer. Caught up in the usually friendly press after being named in a prostitution ring that was busted, he was forced to resign in less than two weeks. He cheated on his wife, betrayed his family, state, party and espoused beliefs. He showed indignation at first, denying the charges and later back-pedaling on his denials. Eventually, enough came out that he was forced to resign to salvage any possible future in public life or politics.
But being a good Leftist soldier, he was taken care of: he appears on cable TV, like his compadre Weiner, and he blusters and pontificates about social and political issues exactly as if he had never been caught doing a Charlie Sheen. Again: no shame, no guilt, no remorse. As with the others his only reaction seemed to be disappointment at getting caught.
Case in Point: Former Senator, Former VP candidate, full time scumbag, John "Breck Girl" Edwards. This man was a lying piece of work from his earliest days as a legal huckster, here in North Carolina. He was infamous for suing doctors, midwives, hospitals, even nurses, for providing perfectly good medical care. He would claim that illnesses and conditions that occurred later in life were the fault of things doctors and hospitals did years earlier. This was his unsavory springboard to a vast personal fortune. It was also how he came to run for and win a North Carolina seat in the US Senate.
Of course, later he ran for President, lost rather badly, opted to be the running mate and wound up losing again any way. Along the way, he cheated on his terminally ill wife of many years and fathering a bastard child. He went on to use campaign funds for hiding his deeds from the public and from his big dollar donors.
Either way it was sleazy, untenable and dishonest. He was tried and somehow, walked away a free man. He acted as if he had been exonerated after the whole debacle. Thankfully, his credibility was left in ruins. He lied, obfuscated and manipulated to gain advantage. In the end, Edwards managed to get off. However, he paid with his public reputation and respectability. Yet and still, he seemed without remorse, shame or guilt after the jury let him go. He actively flirted with an alternate juror. The sleazoid in Edwards came out during his federal trial.
His only reaction was like these others: remorse for getting caught and having to pay the piper. He did the Wrong Thing and wanted to a pass on getting caught.
Typical of the Left: no shame unless publicly and resoundingly caught in the act. No remorse until there is a public trial, dressing down or legal case having to be made. No guilt until a judge or presiding body declares a legal sanction or conviction.
Need more? I won't even start up about Eric Holder and President Lady's Tee.
I would just remind my readers of former President Clinton: What the "definition of is" is.And the rape allegations, and the Lewinsky Scandal and being tried for impeachment. And what about the censure of Representative Charlie Rangel on ethics violations. It took years, and followed loads of foot dragging by the usual leftists in the House. How about the astounding revelation that he illegally used rent controlled apartments in NYC for his personal use and as office space on the cheap. Some man of the people, huh?
More defiance from both; indignation at the substantiated charges from both.
Contrition? Nope, never.
Shame? Nope, never.
Guilt? Not outside a legal proceeding.
And even then, these are rote technical admissions, forced, to satisfy a legal requirement or judge. As in the case of what William Jefferson Clinton had to do to be able to get his law license back after a five (5) year suspension of it. Forced, not voluntary.
No shame, no guilt, no remorse. Only a fake, shallow pretense of it, shown grudgingly, and even then, for public consumption, to satisfy voters, or a jury or some other outside influence. Left to their own devices, caught or not, a Leftist would justify his or her actions and deny, deny, deny.
Where a Tom Delay, a senior Republican, is pilloried and defrocked by his own party and its own ethics policy and later tried, a Leftist would get support and a pass, most likely. The same for Larry Craig, from high ranking Republican to defrocked and removed, and not returned to office. And again, his party, the Republicans were the catalyst, acting to remove support and defense of him. He did not return to Congress, and he was never convicted of even committing a possible crime.
See the difference: Convicted Leftist, supported and defended. Accused Rightist/Republican, abandoned and not defended. Only one side has a sense of shame, a sense of guilt, a sense of remorse: The Right. The Republicans.
The Left is without shame, remorse, guilt or honor for the most part.
So when I am asked about my beliefs, and why I am more conservative than ever, and why I loathe the Progressive movement, and the Socialists and closeted Communists in the Democrat party and the Left, I mention the few memorable cases highlighted here. This is more than enough to shut up even the most ardent Leftist about politics, ethics in office and who is actually moral and honorable. And while there are Republicans with jelly spines (McCain, Graham, McConnell, Boehner ) they are the minority and will decrease in number with the next election I think.
And that's a basic overview of why I consider the average Leftist to be uninformed, immoral and self-deceptive to the point of ignorance. Useful Idiots, as Lenin used to say.
I just wish my friends on the Left would either wake up, or stop pressing me for my view point of their self -selected Boy King, Barak the Dogeater. When they defend him, they just push my buttons all the more.
And yes, I do enjoy the fight.
